A ray of light touches my face
And I wake up beneath the sea;
Another day: no melody,
Just silence and no more disgrace.
I came down here where I am safe,
Away from pain and from despair;
The sea is calm, nothing to bare,
No burdens that can crush my faith.
The outside world keeps moving on,
With louder screams and tasteless tears,
Wanting to bring out all my fears,
To bring me down, to lose the dawn.
But I don’t hear their hateful cries,
No sound arrives to where I am.
I see them scream and do not care,
As water is a shield of lights.
I swim in peace, my ears blessed
And time slows down: infinity;
I simply am—tranquility,
The sea pulling me in a trance.
I live my life under the sea,
A sea of dreams, of salt, of calm;
Light dances sweetly in my palm
And I am free to simply be.
